Chris Hemsworth and his Thor’s Workout

There were many actors who ran for the role of Thor in Marvel’s film. However only one, Chris Hemsworth, had enough courage, physical and adequate ability to achieve the leading role. For the first film, the actor had to dedicate a lot of time to a gym with the help of an ex-marine who taught him the Marine Corps Workout and many old things about how he should train, especially taking care of his arms and shoulders. Chris had to spend long hours of hard workout lifting a lot of weight and exercising hard to get the right body for his role. Hemsworth routines were essentially based on doing few repetitions of each exercise. This generated the mass needed to tone his body.

Chris's workout for the role as Thor was based on a 5-day, 34-exercise program. In the first day, different types of exercises were trained varying between the chest and the arms. First, General pull-up, 5 series of 10 to 20 repetitions progressively. Then 5 simple pushup sets of 20 reps per set. After this Row of two arms of hammer force, 4 sets of 12 reps, and finally had to make 4 sets of 12 reps of Swiss ball hyperextension using the Swiss ball, 4 sets of 15 to 25 reps.

On the second day he focused only on chest exercises. He started the routine doing barbell bench press, 8 sets of 4 to 12 reps progressively. Then using the dumbbells had to do 4 sets of 12 reps of warrior fit incline dumbbell bench press. Then 4 sets of 12 reps from Hammer Strength Chest Press. After a few Dips, he ended the day with 4 sets of Cable Flys.

Most of the exercises were 4 or 5 sets and several repetitions depending on the exercise. For day 3 he focused on the legs starting with squats - lots of weight and few reps. Then he used the Leg Press. The third exercise for the third day was Bodyweight Walking Lunge without equipment or weights, and the fourth exercise was divided into 3 parts. First Leg Extension, then Single-Leg Curl, and to finish , Standing Calf Raise.

On the fourth day, training was based on the shoulders starting with the Military Press. Here, he did 7 sets of 3 to 10 reps. Then Arnold Press with dumbbells. Then Barbell Shrugs, and the fourth exercise was also divided into three, starting with Dumbbell Lateral Raise, then Dumbbell Front Raise, and Dumbbell Rear to end Delt Flye. 3 sets of 15 reps each. On day 4 they performed exercises with their arms. In the first 3 exercises of this day they did 3 sets of 10 reps starting with Barbell Biceps Curl, then Skull Crusher and EZ-Bar Preacher Curl. The third exercise consisted of two parts, the first with the EZ-Bar and then Dumbbell Lying Triceps Extension. Another exercise performed this day is the Dumbbell Hammer Curl and Rope Pressdown. To finish strengthening the arms he did Barbell Wrist Curls and Barbell Reverse Wrist Curls, 3 sets of 20 reps.

By the fifth day and as a final touch, he strengthened Abs. Starting with a 60-second plank. Then 12 reps of Hanging Leg Raises, followed by another 60-second side plank on each side and to finish relaxing, a little 12 reps of Toes-To-Bar.

This routine was very effective for Chris to achieve the perfect body for his role of Thor. His coach motivated him throughout the workout so he would not become discouraged or lose his rhythm. However, Hemsworth did not show any complaint and did so enthusiastically. In addition, the protagonist of Thor leads a life full of exercise and assured that this routine helped him to get back in shape and recover his excellent figure. Thor increased 10 kilograms with this routine, simply with training, lots of red meat and just a little protein powder. Hemsworth in particular was a model of consistency, and the physicist he built has made "Chris Hemsworth Workout" the best search tip on Google. People see Chris and think he was on steroids, but he did not touch a single substance.

After this training, he was forced to change all the clothes in his closet, since everything was very small.

For Chris, it was a quality experience having had to train so hard to get the right body. The actor said he decided to be Thor literally and was in the role even before making the film. For the next editions of the movies where the muscular Chris appeared, he did not need to do the routine again, but simply keep himself in constant training so as not to lose what he had achieved. Chris Hemsworth is a model to follow and an inspiration to many people and actors who want to achieve great roles. It is a motivation and an example of how things should be done to always get the best. Chris could definitely become a true hero for the lives of many.
